Attorney Katie Tucker Named an Influential Women of Law Honoree

Michigan Lawyers Weekly has named Catherine “Katie” Tucker, Partner at Sinas Dramis Law Firm, among its 2025 Influential Women of Law honorees. This esteemed recognition highlights female attorneys and judges for demonstrating exceptional dedication to justice, client advocacy, community service, and the legal profession.
Katie, along with the other accomplished members of the Class of 2025, will be recognized during a special event on September 26.
“Katie Tucker’s exceptional legal acumen, steadfast advocacy, and dedication to community and professional service exemplify the values celebrated by the Influential Women of Law award. Her leadership in complex litigation, her commitment to protecting the rights of injury victims and medical providers, and her mentorship of the next generation of attorneys mark her as a true force in Michigan’s legal community,” said George Sinas, Partner, Sinas Dramis Law Firm.
A Leader in Auto No-Fault and Personal Injury Law
Since joining Sinas Dramis in 2016, Katie rapidly advanced to become a shareholder—an achievement driven by her outstanding work in personal injury law, particularly cases involving Michigan’s auto no-fault insurance system.
In 2019, the Michigan Legislature enacted sweeping reforms to this complex area of law, significantly affecting the rights of seriously injured motor vehicle accident victims and their medical providers. From the moment the legislation passed, Katie dedicated substantial time and effort to analyzing its implications, identifying key legal challenges, and crafting effective litigation strategies on behalf of patients and providers.
Securing Legal Wins for Accident Victims and Families
Katie’s legal expertise and advocacy have resulted in several pivotal victories. In Sowle, et al v Esurance Ins Co, Katie secured lifetime no-fault coverage, as well as unpaid work loss benefits and medical benefits, for a young mother who suffered a traumatic amputation and other serious injuries in an auto accident. In Slocum v Farm Bureau and USAA, she obtained no-fault survivors’ loss benefits—covering the full replacement cost of health insurance—for the widow and three children of a deceased motorcyclist.
Katie also played a key role in the landmark Andary v USAA case, where the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled the 2019 auto no-fault amendments could not be applied retroactively to those injured before the law’s enactment.
Ongoing Advocacy
Katie continues to advocate on behalf of seriously injured individuals and medical providers, navigating the complexities of the 2019 no-fault reforms in legal disputes with insurance companies. She also pursues compensation for individuals across the state who have been seriously injured or killed in motor vehicle crashes or other incidents as the result of someone else’s negligence.
Beyond her litigation work, Katie serves as Associate General Counsel for the Coalition Protecting Auto No-Fault (CPAN)—a respected bipartisan organization representing victim advocacy groups and medical providers. In this capacity, she has authored and co-authored numerous amicus curiae briefs and submitted influential legal commentary regarding regulatory enforcement of the new law.
In addition to her work with CPAN, Katie is an active Board member for the Brain Injury Association of Michigan—an organization that advocates for Michiganders who have sustained traumatic and other serious brain injuries—and the Ingham County Bar Association (ICBA). She has also held leadership roles in the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, serving as president of her regional chapter for more than five years, and the ICBA Young Lawyers Section, where was president and a longtime Board member. In these roles, Katie organized events, volunteered her time, and raised funds for several other community organizations, including Legal Services of South Central Michigan, Boys & Girls Club of Lansing, Volunteers of America, Cristo Rey Community Center, End Violent Encounters (EVE), and Helping Women Period.
Commitment to Mentorship
“I am truly humbled and grateful for this recognition from Michigan Lawyers Weekly—and to be included among such an outstanding group of honorees. Throughout my career, I have been incredibly fortunate to have learned from and been mentored by many influential and talented attorneys, particularly at Sinas Dramis Law Firm. I am truly indebted to them for any success that I have had to date. Mentorship is tremendously important in our profession, and I hope to pay forward the good fortune I have had in that regard,” said Katie.
