“After an Injury or accident, it can sometimes feel like your life has been turned upside down. Being a personal injury attorney affords me the opportunity to use the law as a tool to shoulder a small portion of the stress and burden associated with an accident, by acting as both an advocate and a problem solver for an injured person. It’s an incredible privilege to be the person that helps injured people fight for the rights and benefits they deserve.” – Kelly Todd

Kelly A. Todd

Kelly Todd is a personal injury attorney at the firm’s Lansing office. She represents people in auto negligence cases. She also represents people and medical providers in cases involving insurance companies unreasonably denying claims for Michigan auto no-fault benefits. Additionally, she handles a variety of other personal injury cases.

Kelly graduated cum-laude from Southern Connecticut State University with a B.S. in Sociology and a minor in Psychology, where she also competed on the University’s NCAA Women’s Gymnastics team, before going on to achieve her Juris Doctor from Cooley Law School in 2012. After graduating law school, Kelly initially worked as an associate attorney in Louisville, Kentucky for five years at a personal injury law firm representing plaintiffs. During her time at this firm, she helped obtain millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for the firm’s injured clients.

In 2020, Kelly relocated to Michigan and began practicing as a civil defense attorney. She defended medical malpractice cases, no-fault PIP cases, and auto negligence cases. Kelly’s work as a defense attorney has allowed her to gain valuable insight and knowledge into how defense attorneys and insurance companies handle and litigate claims. However, Kelly has always had a passion for helping people , and that passion remained largely unfulfilled in her defense practice. For that reason, , Kelly joined the firm in 2023 to return to being able to help people suffering from serious injuries navigate the legal system and obtain benefits and fair compensation which they are rightfully owed under the law.

In her spare time, Kelly is a member, coach, and official for USA Weightlifting. She also serves as legal counsel on USA Weightlifting’s ad-hoc legal committee and has served in multiple board of director positions at the local level for Michigan and Kentucky’s USA Weightlifting organizations. In addition to her work on the ad-hoc legal committee, Kelly also volunteers with Legal Services of South Central Michigan where she assists individuals with expungement hearings. Additionally, Kelly rescues and fosters pitbull dogs, and is a proud 2018 inductee into Michigan’s Attorneys for Animals nonprofit organization, which serves as an informal clearinghouse for attorneys that take on animal law cases and assists state and local government units in drafting and revising animal laws, rules, and ordinances.
