Medical Providers and No-Fault – FOX 17 Know the Law

In May 2017, the Michigan Supreme Court held in Covenant Medical Center v State Farm that medical providers do not have a right under the no-fault law to sue auto insurers for unpaid bills. Instead, the Court said providers denied payment by auto insurers must “seek payment from the injured person” — that is, the car crash victim. Unfortunately, the ruling likely means more lawsuits being filed against auto accident victims. Grand Rapids, Michigan car accident attorney Tom Sinas, of the Sinas Dramis Law Firm, explains.
