Tom Sinas, a partner at Sinas Dramis Law Firm and manager of the firm’s Grand Rapids office, has been named a 2026 Leader in the Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. The recognition reflects more than two decades of work representing people with serious and catastrophic injuries, leadership within Michigan’s legal community, public education, policy advocacy, and injury-prevention efforts throughout West Michigan.

More Than Two Decades Advocating for Injured Michigan Families

Widely recognized as one of Michigan’s leading plaintiff attorneys, Tom Sinas has dedicated more than two decades to representing individuals and families affected by catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, and other serious personal injury matters.

Throughout his career, he has secured significant settlements and verdicts on behalf of clients whose lives were forever changed by negligence, including cases involving:

His work reflects a career-long commitment to helping injured people and their families navigate some of the most difficult circumstances they will ever face.

“Tom embodies everything this recognition represents,” said Bryan Waldman, president of Sinas Dramis Law Firm. “He is an outstanding trial lawyer, a respected leader within the legal community, a trusted educator, and a tireless advocate for injured individuals and their families. We are incredibly proud to see him recognized as a Leader in the Law.”

Leadership Beyond the Courtroom

While highly respected for his work in the courtroom, Tom’s influence extends well beyond his legal practice.

He volunteers his time in statewide and local leadership roles with numerous professional, civic, and nonprofit organizations dedicated to advancing justice, improving public safety, and expanding access to legal services.

That combination of client advocacy, professional leadership, and community involvement has been a consistent part of his career.

A Voice in Michigan No-Fault Law and Public Policy

Tom has also been a prominent voice in public policy discussions affecting injured Michigan residents.

During the debate surrounding Michigan’s 2019 auto No-Fault insurance reforms, he testified before lawmakers and helped educate attorneys, healthcare providers, policymakers, and the public about the reforms’ potential impact on crash victims and their access to care.

His work in this area has extended beyond advocacy on individual cases. Through legal education and public policy involvement, Tom has worked to help others better understand Michigan’s complex auto insurance system and how changes to that system can affect seriously injured people.

For individuals seeking more information about their rights following a crash, our Michigan auto no-fault resources provide additional information about No-Fault benefits, serious injury claims, and the legal process after an accident.

Educating Michigan Attorneys and the Public

Legal education has also played a central role in Tom’s career.

He regularly presents at professional conferences and continuing legal education programs, sharing his knowledge in areas including:

  • Trial advocacy
  • Personal injury litigation
  • Michigan No-Fault law
  • Automobile negligence
  • Serious injury claims

That educational work extends to the public as well.

For the past decade, Tom has served as host of FOX 17’s Know the Law television segment, helping West Michigan residents better understand legal issues that affect their lives, rights, and families.

Through these presentations and public education efforts, he has helped make complicated legal topics more accessible not only to fellow attorneys but also to the people directly affected by Michigan law.

Promoting Bicycle Safety Through Lids for Kids

Tom’s commitment to injury prevention is another important part of his work in West Michigan.

In 2013, he brought Sinas Dramis Law Firm’s Lids for Kids bicycle safety initiative to West Michigan. Since then, the program has provided more than 5,000 local children with professionally fitted bicycle helmets while promoting bicycle safety and injury prevention throughout the region.

The program reflects a broader philosophy that preventing life-changing injuries is just as important as helping people after those injuries occur.

What the 2026 Leader in the Law Recognition Means

The Leader in the Law honor recognizes more than individual legal accomplishments. For Tom, the recognition reflects a career built around advocacy, leadership, education, public service, and injury prevention.

“I am honored to be recognized among Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2026 Leaders in the Law,” said Tom. “Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work alongside extraordinary clients, colleagues, and community leaders who inspire me every day. This recognition reflects the values that guide Sinas Dramis Law Firm: service, advocacy, education, and a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.”

Those values have also helped guide Sinas Dramis Law Firm throughout its 75-year history representing injured people and families across Michigan.
