Sinas Dramis Attorney Completes Grand Rapids Marathon

Michigan personal injury attorney Steve Sinas ran in honor of Jackie Bayley, who lost her battle with ovarian cancer

Michigan personal injury attorney Stephen Sinas successfully completed the 11th annual Metro Health Grand Rapids Marathon on Sunday, October 19, 2014. Steve used the marathon as an opportunity to fundraise for the Jacqueline E. Bayley Foundation (JEBF), which is a charitable organization dedicated to raising money for ovarian cancer research and awareness.

JEBF was started in honor of Steve’s friend, Jacqueline (“Jackie”) E. Bayley, who died in August 2011 from ovarian cancer. Jackie was only 34 years old when she passed away.  She was an amazing person who touched the lives of countless people throughout Michigan and beyond.  Jackie was a Grand Rapids native, graduating from Forest Hills Northern High School.  She attended the University of Michigan for college, and earned her law degree from the University of Notre Dame. She then worked as a successful attorney in metro Detroit.  Jackie was a true inspiration as she battled against ovarian cancer.  Her tragic ordeal exemplifies how ovarian cancer, known as “the silent killer,” can so easily steal the lives of young women.

In addition to the Sinas Dramis Law Firm making a significant donation to JEBF, other law firms, attorneys, and medical professionals throughout Michigan also helped contribute to Steve’s marathon fundraising efforts.  It turned out to be a perfect fall morning for running, and Steve was able to get his personal best marathon time.  For those who are interested in supporting the Jacqueline E. Bayley Foundation, donations can be made at any time during the year and are tax deductible.  For more information, please visit the JEBF website. Also, check out this great Detroit news story from FOX Detroit about JEBF and ovarian cancer awareness.
